>Beethoven cello sonata no. 3 in A major, op. 69, mvt IV: David Meyer, cello, Tali Tadmor, piano

From a joint recital at USC in 2007. I love the celebration and joie de vivre in this final movement of the sonata, written in the midst of Beethoven’s “Heroic” period. The A-major sonata stands in stark contrast to the plethora of the brassy-sounding, militaristic Eb-major pieces written during this time and comes to represent spirituality and peace.
